A Summer Story for Kids
By Ian (and Jan) Jennrich

Just for fun, here is a cute story "written" by my son a couple years ago. He dictated the words and I wrote them down. Later I printed up pages (on our computer) like a picture book and he illustrated his creation page by page. If you know children who are looking for a fun summer activity, maybe they’d like to make their own book too! -- Jan

Ian's Cloud Book
By Ian Jennrich, Age 7

Once upon a time there was a cow who loved to eat grass. She was black with white spots. One day, along came a cloud that was afraid of heights. He was playing hide-and-go seek with his friends. This cloud didn't watch where he was going. The cow didn't look where she was eating. So, the cow accidentally ate the cloud. Now, because he was in the stomach of the cow, the cloud couldn't see where he was going. And the cow started floating in the air.
The cow gradually floated into a plane. A person in the plane screamed and then yelled, "There’s a cow in my window!"
The cow started to feel heavy and wet. It rained milk and flooded the little town below. The cow wanted to get down.
Then a different plane came and rescued the cow and everyone in the little town drank milk for their health.
The cow thought, "I think next time I’ll look before I eat."
