Canning the Leftovers



This is the time of the year when I make large pots of soups and stews. Lots of veggies need to be used or thrown out and butchering is supplying lots of meat.

I simply take the leftover soups and stews and throw it into canning jars and can it. When I need a fast meal in the wintertime, just open and heat. Fast and simple. You can also do this with a little bit of this and that left over from dinners. Just save them up until you have enough to do a soup and then can it. No waste and wonderfully fast meals.

We are now cutting firewood and that takes a lot of time. When you come in cold and hungry, watch out. With a loaf of bread in the warming oven and royal ghee to spread on it... A huge bowl of soup and dinner is served. Fantastic.
