Roses

Question and Answer

The Question came for a reader about moving a rose bush. I sent an email to Arlene Correll, Home Farm Herbery.

The Answer "Tell the lady, I would have no problem moving it if it was mine.  She should dig up a lot of dirt around the rose. Tell her to dig a very wide hole. About 3 times as wide as the hole she is taking the rose out of.   Fill the hole with water.  When she puts the rose in the hole make sure she does not cover up the knob of the rose. (the part that comes out of the ground)  She should cover with dirt. She should make a raised ring around the rose so the water will stay in when she re-waters.  Also she should mulch her rose so it retains water."
