Summer 2004

The baby Cardinals have muted, splotchy colors. The beak color is dark or a spotty while the adult birds have the bright orange color.

Tufted Tit Mouse but we call them Tufties

You see the adult male Cardinal in front but do you see the little Chickadee in the background? Below is a close up of the same birds.

I looked out the window the other day to see a pair of BIG feet. My first thought was that it might be a chicken? Yes, they were bird feet, just big. No, so I peek around the "curtain" to see Beep-Beep the Roadrunner. Wouldn't you know it, the camera was full and I had not been able to download it. When the computer was put back together, it was not reconnected. Something about Launch. Sigh. Most of the birds I take pictures of the pictures are blurred and not useable. Someday soon, the photos will be better.

But for that fleeting moment, he was telling me that he was hot and thirsty. When it gets over 95, all the critters come out wanting some nice cool water to drink. So I moved the water sprinkler to his area and filled all the pans with fresh clean and oh so cold water.
