Chanel Cordell on Stings |
Skin So Soft lotion! is the answer. You don't have to
use the greasy oil, the lotion works fine.
We live in the N. GA mountains and raise honey bees. Before I work in the garden, or pull honey from the bees, or any outside work I just rub it on my legs and arms and I have no mosquito bites and have never been stung by a bee. It hasn't stained any of my clothes so I rub it on my neck but not my face. If you are wearing a hat you can rub some on the hat to keep it off of your face. It's a little slick but it absorbs and after a few minutes there is no noticeable residue. If you get a bee sting immediately pull out the stinger. When a honey bee stings you it leaves the stinger but also kills the bee. Scratch or pull the stinger out, looks like a little splinter. I have heard old fashioned remedies like wet tobacco, or meat tenderizer in a paste, or vinegar. The best thing I can tell you is to apply a cold compress and never stand in front of a bee hive.
