The View from Mel's Place

08-20-04

Well, I am back! The last month has been pretty busy, as Nita mentioned we switched electric companies and went with out for a day. On top of that MJ had a bbq at his bosses home, Chris had to get ready for his senior year, and I have been helping a friend work on her forums!

This week has been so humid! We got rain a lot last night, and more today, I love the rain!

Thanks to fly lady and an online cleaning buddy, my home has been company ready for a week!

My garden which I thought was dead, despite my efforts to water and weed, seems to be coming back! I got so many cherry tomatoes yesterday I could not eat them all!

I love the smell of fresh cut grass; the mowers for the county did the highway down about 2 miles from me. When I went to town the smell was so fresh! Of course I sneezed all afternoon, but still! It was worth it!

Chris is now in school; Drew is finding not going to school with him to be an adjustment. His friends are all away at college but one and he is going to marine boot camp next weekend. Drew is looking for a fulltime job, and driving me bonkers in his home time!

As for me, I am enjoying the quiet once again. I love cleaning and not worrying if the appliances get too loud!

I am already looking forward to fall, with its cooler days and colder nights. True here in TX is rarely gets cold until Jan or Feb, and then usually hovering in the mid 30s, but I like that much better than the 105 normal for this time of year! This month has been much cooler than normal though. Most days our highs have been just under 100!

Well the laundry is beckoning so I best go answer its call!

It is soooo nice to have a bit of time to write though!

As I am thinking of the boys, I remember Andrew when he was little.

I wrote this for him on an especially trying day, it was either write or strangle….<G>

TWO
Small and bright.
Filled with light.
He grins and spins then out of sight.
A second later you hear the crash,
And then the splash
As the toilet becomes a bath.
You hear the giggle
See the wiggle
As the corner you round.

You grimace when you see the mess,
But then again he grins and spins.
He’s only two you say
You clear the mess, receive the kiss
And as he disappears you hear him call
I love you mommy best of all.

I hope you enjoyed it!
