College Care Package

College Care Package

When your children head out to college, pack a care box filled with wrapped gifts to remind them that you are thinking of them in their new environment and to assist them through those sometimes-difficult first couple weeks of school.

Include an address book with family and friends information, stationery with stamped envelopes and postcards, an easily opened bank with quarters for the laundry and vending machines, etc.

The care box will be their connection with home. Some days there may be too much activity going on to open a gift, but other days they may open more than one at a time.

P.S. If including cookies, make up a batch of popcorn and use it to keep the cookies from crumbling.

Introduction

My name is Dolores Gilligan and I am married, mother of five grown children and grandmother of eight. Through the years we had three foster children and one of them is married and has three children. We live in New York State in a farmhouse built in 1870. The original farm was one hundred and fifty acres, but less than three of those acres were included in our purchase. At the present time, we only have two cats. Before this we lived on a one hundred and twenty-seven acre farm. There we had cows, sheep, rabbits, chickens, dogs and cats. An idyllic life.
