CHOCOLATE CHIP CHEWIES
  • 1-1/4 C firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4  Butter Flavored Crisco (Stick or 3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all vegetable shortening)
  • 2 Tbs Milk
  • 1 Tbs Vanilla
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 3/4 c All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Soda'
  • 1 Cup coarsely chopped Pecans
  • 1 Cup Quick Oats, Uncooked
  • 1 C Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/3 cup Flaked Coconut
1 Heat oven to 375 F.  Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies
 
2.  Combine brown sugar, shortening, milk and vanilla in large bow.  Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.  Beat egg into shortening mixture
 
3.  Combine flour salt and baking soda.  Mix into shortening mixture just until blended.
 
4.  Drop by rounded measuring TBLS  of dough 3 inches apart onto greased baking sheets.
 
5.  Bake one baking at a time at 375°F for  8 to 10 min for chewy cookies or 11 to 13 min for crisp cookies. 
 
Do not overbake. 
 
Cool 2 minutes on baking sheets.
 
Remove cookies to foil to cool completely.
