I do not use poisons
of any kind around our house and I have two different types of
"insect and rodent control elements" which plug into the wall.
I inherited both of them from my Mother, but that's another story.
One is a "Pest Raider III" which is sonic and projects a noise into the room, this is very handy to place in cabinets where mice wander. Mine has a neat little red button that makes an amazingly loud noise when pushed. This comes in handy when mice are in the walls behind the cabinets and you want to "persuade" them to leave. The other is made by Global Instruments and effects the wiring within the wall. Supposedly, one will circle a room within the walls. I live in a modular home and am not sure if it works on more than one wall. I leave it plugged into the same outlet all the time. In our other house, which was a 100 year old farm house I had one on each wall and we still had mice in the ceilings and everywhere the current did not reach. I think that once you decide how best to use them they work fine. I haven't found them effective on rats though. Nancy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
I use a Sunbeam model. Don't use it on the battery mode, as it will use up the batteries in one day. I found that it was good for yellow jackets and those Asian lady bugs and flies. Did not find it particularly good for mice or spiders. Hope this helps. Carole Kington |
