Regarding your canning jars---I have so many and much has been picked up at estate sales,yard sales,etc. Many times,women who quit canning for whatever reason will all but give them away or sell for a $1 a dozen.  If you buy new-not cost efficient as you probally know.

Maybe run an ad to see what you can find.  I have canned for many years-both pressure and hot water bath and know for a fact that canning products can run into some money unless you learn some ways to cut costs.
