*Let me see if I am coherent enough to get this all written out! **

As some of you know we have been having a dispute with our landlord. He said we had a 2 year lease with option, but insisted we pay back taxes on a year we rented, and then gave us 10 days to pay the back taxes or face eviction. MJ decided we ought not to move so signed a new month to month agreement, paying the taxes, but not a buyers contract, like we were promised.

This has bugged us but we were content with this house. Well the $600 a month leaves us no emergency money, no savings, MJ even had to quit putting in his 401k plan. The house rent (I cant call it a mortgage payment cuz it's a lease not a buy) and electric this month run $900, which is over 2/3 of MJs pay (he clears $1400 a month). So this month he said if Drew and I could find a house for $500 down and $450 - $475 a month, we could move.

Well yesterday I found one! It is perfect, not as big as this one, but only smaller by 300 sq ft! The guy owns many houses here and unlike this guy, I know 4 people who are buying from him and they all sing his praises as an honorable, stand up guy. No one I have met has anything nice to say about the current guy we rent from.

Anyway, the new house is 2 bed 1 bath (with one son leaving for boot in 6 weeks 1 bath will be ok) the kitchen has a unique set up, the fridge, washer, dryer and stove are all lined up on one wall!

The living room is close to the size of ours now, with out the dining area, there is a dining room, and a bonus room which Chris says he wants for his until January when he goes to his permanent duty station (he comes home from boot for 2-6 weeks) It even has a shed, no more tools in the house (this is a big deal to me) The 2 bedrooms are large, and have hard wood floors.

The living room has an old gas fireplace, there is no gas to the house but we can later convert it to a regular fireplace, it has no chimney but we can fix that later too if we choose. We do not like the carpet, but that is ok, cuz underneath it is... hardwood floors! So the carpet leaves tomorrow!

The bathroom is huge and there is lots of storage. It even has a dog pen in the back yard, and since both yards on either side are fenced our fencing costs will be about 1/2 what we expected!

There is a gate and some fence wire but none put up on our property. The shed will also house our huge deep freeze that I hate and the boys weight station, which is on the back deck here. The front porch is like another room! It is roofed, so I will be able to sit and watch the storms!

The neat thing is the payments, $460 a month! Including taxes and homeowners insurance! He is putting it in our names today. Now what this means is, for the cost of just the rent on this house, we will be able to pay, the mortgage, water bill, internet bill, trash service (cant afford that in this house!) and still have about $20 left over! Plus with that house being solid, not wall board and not being in the major sun area like this one, the power bill will be lower!

There is not enough space, not enough words to express how God has set this up for us! And folks it was God, this house had people in it until earlier this month!*

*Saturday July 2nd*

*Well we spent the morning at the new house. **

We pulled up all the icky carpet and exposed the wood; we are going to be looking to see if any one we know has access to a big sander.

I scrubbed the bathroom, Chris helped, the tiles are now white again not grey! We have a solid iron tub, not a claw foot, but solid anyway! It has some spots that zud and a scrubber pad (the dark green ones) could not get out, which since we are shower people we can live with while we figure it out!

MJ did awesome in the kitchen, the new grout will go in Monday, we wanna check for leaks before we replace it. Chris took a broom to the walls and ceilings and cleaned all the webby stuff off. We also put in a new door knob, so we now have a key!*

*Sunday July 3rd*

*Well the guys went off to a movie; I had them drop me off at the new place and worked on the porch for a few. I scrubbed off the bird do, and then cleaned the window that doesnt open, its a picture window and hosed it all off. I had the guys drop off my glider rocker there and so I sat in it for a bit and dreamed! I took a green scrubby pad and tested it on the wood floor; it gets up the glue fine but some one with more muscle than me needs to wield it! **

Way off out back, at the end of the lot is a fenced area, the guys say its not on our property, but it is! It is inside our fence line.

I had to leave the windows up cuz a few wasps were buzzing inside the windows and wasps really upset me! Later when I take Chris back to shut the windows I will have him go see what it is. I think it is an old chicken coop! There is a tall gate and a metal building in the fence. I am hoping to mow the front yard tomorrow.

I figure the more we make the place look cared for the less we have to worry about mischief makers trying to break in. I hope one of MJs friends will let us borrow his generator, so we can set up a couple fans and maybe a radio!

I hope also tomorrow to clear the small end table out of the shed, clean it up and set it on the porch and the lawn chair in there too. I also plan to take over the plastic chairs we have here. I am hoping MJ will agree to watch the fireworks there tomorrow!

We also discovered today the house has 2 outside water spigots! I am really happy about that, there is a huge hose attached to one so with my hose we can reach the entire acre lot!*

*Monday July 4th*

*We went to the house for a few today, just MJ, Drew and I, Drew finished getting up the tack strips from the floors, I finished sweeping all the debris to date into a pile. MJ replaced all the caulk he had chiseled out with nice clean new stuff! Then he and Drew shoveled all the debris onto and old sheet and hauled it around back.*

*We met the neighbor, he said the folks had moved out just about a week ago, just turned their chickens loose and left! He inherited the chickens!*

*The fenced building out back is ours and it is a chicken coop. Though we are not planning to make use of it as such. The neighbor has chickens! I just want to see how far we can stretch the fencing to fence the back of the yard! We gave the neighbor the old dog pen. Since it was storming there were no real fireworks to watch, but God did an awesome job with the lightening! I did sit out and watch the few that some brave souls put up, and got soaked in the process!*

*Tuesday July 5th*

*I had MJ drop me off at the house on his way to work this morning. I got one set of cabinets cleaned out totally, ready for supplies! It was **8 am** when I left; it was already getting a bit hot! I will go back over later to close the windows. The plan is to borrow a generator this weekend and sand the floors, the power might be on Monday, and I can not wait! The sooner it is on the faster we can move in! Though I might have to be off line for a bit if the internet folks cant make it out fast! Sometimes it takes them up to 2 weeks!*

*Thursday July 7th*

*Today the boys and I went over, yesterday I went, but didnt do much. The boys mowed the front lawn, and I worked on more cabinets!*

* *

*Friday July 8th*

*Finally got everything worked out with the power folks the guy said he had to tell me 3-5 days, but that he put it in to be on as soon as possible, so it might make it on Monday, though he was definite it would happen by Wednesday!*

*Well my first batch of dishes is there to unpack. *

*We cleaned out the shed and it is ready to be bug bombed, the only bugs we have seen are spiders and wasps and dirt daubers (we call em mud guppies). Since it took me so long to fixed the power bill (they could not find a $100 payment I had made Tuesday!) it was noon by the time we got to the house and 1 by the time we got the shed cleared and sorted, there is some usable keeper stuff in there! It was however too warm to do anything else, heat saps my energy fast. Now had I been able to just go inside when I got there, I would have gotten a lot done! LOL well there is always tomorrow!*

*I may be off line from Monday to Friday, so I wish you all a blessed week!*
