Moving day dawned bright and fresh, just a hint of water in the air, and later turned muggy and horridly hot!

About 8 I came to the new house to see what needed doing before our moving crew arrived. We had begun sanding the floor the night before, and so I swept and swept and swept! By 9 everything was ready for the furniture.

10 pickup trucks later 95% of our belongings were here. It looked like a goodwill shop had exploded. The floor was not much but rabbit trails here and there.

MJ got home from work and set to helping load the last load, and the front steps collapsed dropping him into the bumper of the pick up. He got a bad scrap and was very sore. After the crew got the last load loaded we went to leave, out the side door as MJ stepped on the 2nd step, down it went! This time it caught his leg and I had to tear the step off the frame so he could get free. We were sure his leg was broken this time, but he only got more scrapes! We could not believe he crashed twice in 30 minutes and was not badly hurt!

The next day the boys and I went back and cleaned out the junk, and finished packing. We weren’t done when MJ got home, Drew left to go to a movie night with his girlfriend, since she leaves Monday for a 2 week cruise. He did get my roses moved though!

While Chris and I finished up, MJ decided to finish hanging a ceiling fan that the boys couldn’t get hung. When Chris and I got home he was sitting down, the chair had wobbled, dumping him and the fan on the floor in a shower of broken glass! Again though, he walked… well hobbled… away with minor injuries!

Finally all our stuff was here, and all my plants were here, well the ones I decided to keep anyway. I have done more laundry since Friday than I usually do in a week! Mostly its cuz stuff got dusty being dumped here and there.

I have almost finished our bedroom, the kitchen, dining room and living room, the kids are doing their own. It is so nice to know the seasonal decorations, extra dining table chairs and such items can go in the shed and not be moved from place to place all the time!

The wood floors will have to be redone as time and cash allows, and there is a lot of work to do yet. It will be fun work though, we all feel like we have finally found home!

True my view isn’t of cows any longer, but there are chickens and goats next door and a horse to watch down the road a piece. Plus I have a good friend in Rock Port who has promised me some trees in the fall!

Well I am beat and tomorrow is iris planting day!

Ya’ll have an awesome week!
