The last couple weeks have been busy! Chris is now in
week 3 of boot camp, we got a note from him Saturday that said it is
hard but he will live. That is typical Chris!
Drew went off to his first day of college this morning! Boy howdy do I feel old all of a sudden! Last week I did a neat thing! I am sure by now you have all heard of Free Cycle, where you give and get things others do not want for free. Well a poster in our local FC group asked why no trades, and that set me to thinking. So I began a local trades group you can trade stuff or jobs, as long as each gets something they want or need. Well when we moved here, we had a bed cover for a small pick up in the yard, I call it a camper shell but MJ says its too small and isn't really a camper shell, it looks like one of those snug fit things. Anyway I was fixing to put it on FC when I decided to try and trade if first for having all my trash and junk removed. So I posted it on the trade board and with in an hour I had a guy willing to haul all my trash and junk (like ummm all that carpet we tore out!) in exchange! So he came out Saturday and with the 4 of us it took 1 hour to load his truck and trailer. Drew took our water bill and went with him, you are given 1 free dump run a month at the town dump if you take your water bill in. So now it has a nice home and my yard is free of debris! Then this morning I was talking to a lady on my web site and she mentioned how hard it is to get her stuff done. I told her I do mine in 15 minute cycles and I would chat with her if she wished to join me. Well she miss understood and thought I had a yahoo group on that idea! Well now I do! Here is the idea behind it (copied from the yahoo home page for the group. Do you need help cleaning and decluttering? Not motivated? Well join the crowd! Homekeeping lately has been made to seem a chore and unimportant by society! We aim to change that! The goal of this group is to motivate each other, to get our homes clean,15 minutes at a time! I do this daily, cleaning and playing in 15 minute cycles and it really does work! Just check with the gals at the Prairie Homemaker web site! Ready to begin? Lets go! the group is called the 15s and can be joined here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the15s/ or by sending an email here: [email protected] Well my lunch is waiting and then so is the laundry and bathroom! I am working on a new method to get organized, if I figure it out I will write about it next time! Hugs and blessings y'all! Mel
