It was the year 1927...

It was the year 1927 when a tornado struck St. Louis. As far as I can remember I was on the Mississippi having a ride on the St. Paul (an excursion boat.)

We were on the boat for 3 hours. It took one hour to go down the river and 2 hours coming back. When the storm struck we were all right. The captain had pulled up along side shore. As close as he could get without getting mired in the mud.

I don't remember how we got home. Another ride not too long ago, the boat broke down and we had to be towed back.
