My Scrubbie Christmas Tree by Nita Holstine |
All Scrubbies used here were handmade by Kathy Vilseck, THE SCRUBBIE LADY
|
Even Randy stopped and said, Oh a Scrubbie Tree. The bottom took on a rounded shape and it was actually very pretty. Without extra garland behind it, you could see the wires and cords. The only problem was the wire above it for hanging. It did well for a photo. With another dozen Scrubbies, I could have made it a complete circle and it would stand alone and keep its shape. |
My background left a lot to be desired. At the time, I was doing good to find something to fill the need. (without setting up the ironing board) |
Left side is the bottom of the tree. I ran out of safety pins and went to using the little green ornament hooks for the rest. |
This went so well, I wished for another hour to work on other ideas. Such fun. |
Thank you Scrubbie Lady for the beautiful bead garland! |
I like this hanging tree the best. My star for the top was way too big and had burned out. The felt ornaments are from many years ago. The wrapping paper masks the dirty window. |
Above and below are just like the first tree. |
|
This was taller than the original last week but not very pretty. |
The safety pins made good connectors until I ran out. I then went to sewing a few loops from the backside. Keep it simple. |
Okay, my Scrubbies slid around and disappeared under the Garland. The lights still made it all very pretty. For this next week, I will make a frame to hold the tree in a tree shape. Quit that laughing. |
This project was done over about 3 weeks and was taken down right after Christmas so I could start giving them away. Such fun. Already I have comments about how great the Scrubbie really works. |
