I thought readers may enjoy this web site. It's Freecycle.com.

It's all over the world but one just uses the site around them.

Meaning.... when one gets onto the site

One goes to their state. One then goes to their county or counties.

I belong to 3 sites because I have 2 other counties near me.

It's a Yahoo site...so one becomes a member of the freecycle site near them. It's free.

Then decide if they messages are delivered to one's mailbox or not.

There's alot of messages....

The whole idea being to rid yourself of items no longer needed. When I have an item I no longer use, I "offer" it in a email to other members. I then take the first email I receive asking for it.

Unless a non profit asks too. Then the non-profit receives it.

I email the member back and we arrange a day they can pick the item up.

I leave the item outside my driveway's gate with the member's name on it.

This way the item's are kept out of the landfill's. Someone who can use it does. And everyone gets to clean out their home! It's very nice. I also have received very nice items.

A friend says in her rural area there are few members; which would make sense.
