Age: Not telling, but 39 was a while ago.
Sex: Female, of course!
Location: North Carolina, near the coast but not too close. Other than a few urban centers, this is a very rural state. Lots of subsistence farmers, lots of poverty, not much ambition outside the big cities. Our state college system includes several community colleges, and some of the best job-oriented computer courses in the country; not necessarily the most impressive degrees in computing, but a higher proportion of usable skills in a short time. I know about this because my honey is taking computer classes as well as working full time.

Location: a single-wide trailer in a rural trailer park. It is plenty crowded with five people, four adult cats and seven kittens, a fish tank, hundreds of books, a home school, an office, and a lot of big dreams.

I've been married almost 24 years to the same man. My honey is Rick-bo the world-famous computer dude. Well, world famous in certain circles, anyway! Until interest faded, he ran a web site for on-line scrabble play, and we had friends all over the USA, in South America, Italy, Australia, Germany, and many other places. Some still keep in touch.

My three children are:
Faith, age 21
Bobby, age 19 (today!)
Patty, age 15

Faith is taking a business course by mail, and she wants to study film. We agree it might turn out to be more a hobby than a profitable career, but she has thought it through a long time, and still wants to do it.

Bobby has shown a lot of his father's mechanical aptitude, repairing bicycles for the neighborhood children and his sisters. He currently has no college aspirations, but he just started work in a store that sells electronic games. It's his second job, and for now, it is only part-time. He also just bought his first vehicle, a motor scooter. Later, he might want to study psychology; he has a standing invitation to apprentice with a plumber; or maybe he will try to open his own bicycle repair shop.

Patty is the only one who is still a minor. She finds it rather unfair that everyone else is adult but her! She does not know what she wants for a career, but she has plenty of time to think about that. Patty wants a dog of her own, but that is not likely to happen while we live on someone else's property.

Interests: Writing, crafting, thrifty living, growing my own food. For now, while I live in a rental, I cannot do much toward growing my own food, but I do have several big planters of herbs. Someday, I want to own a house and land. I want to have a vegetable garden, and keep some animals for food. I think we could integrate chickens, rabbits, goats, and fish, as well as raising earthworms to sell. I also want to have grape vines, berry bushes, fruit and nut trees, rhubarb,  edible flowers. Any extra bit of space could be for growing landscape plants to sell.

I've done a lot of research on Dyslexia, a difference in learning style that affects several in my family, including me. Did you know there is a physical aspect to dyslexia? I'm interested in many aspects of education.

I read widely, and my large extended family has tried many different things. I have more interests and know more kinds of things than I can list. Feel free to ask me all kinds of questions; if I don't know, I might have an idea where to get the answer, and I'll enjoy the challenge.
