It is now 2006 and our 2nd year out of a 12 year drought. Over a year in a burn ban and to the point of no outside burning, not even the grill. Not even covered trash cans. In the middle of Texas, we don't get a lot of rains and we are not in the areas that flood since we are all sand and what rain we gets either sinks in fast or evaporates even faster. I have watered the pine and cedar trees since the rains have not been enough to soak down where they need moisture for their roots. Around this area, one sees many pine trees dead and we had one big cedar that has died but since the others didn't die, it might not have been due to the lack of rain. Nita |
