It Rained so Much for so Long...

Send an email to Nita and tell everyone how wet you've seen it at your place

It is 2006 now and the longest time of continued rain I can remember was about 15 years ago. It was just before the drought began and was followed by a year where spring stayed cloudy with no sunshine for 2 months. No rain but no blooms on any flowers. The rainy year in question backed up all the creeks and little rivers. In the bigger cities, the drains were all useless and the lake was overflowing its limits. The runoff caused an otherwise usable road to be covered with 2 feet of water. Many people of that generation had never seen so much water. It caused those folks to have to drive an extra 20 miles or so since there were no other roads. It didn't last long and was down within a month's time. When we get more than a day or two of rain at a time, the oak trees grow algae, the frogs croak at night and little mushrooms appear everywhere. Nita
