All
Moms are Working Moms
Whether
in the home, or in the office, all moms deal with stress on a daily
basis.
Whether you’re a “work-at-home” mom, or juggling the
responsibilities of the office, you know that your work day isn't an
eight-hour proposition. The juggling of schedules, deadlines to meet,
and constant activity lead to fluctuating levels of stress. Continued stress
will have an effect on your mind and body.
Stress can best be described as the
body's natural reaction to a situation, which the subconscious finds
threatening or dangerous. The body’s immediate reaction to the danger
can range from sweating to headaches to increased heart rate.
Take a pro-active stance and eliminate the effects of stress before they
happen. Don’t get tied up with the problems unmanaged stress can
cause:
- Fatigue
– If you have those days that you just can’t get out of bed, it
could be the result of a stressful situation, rather than a bad
night’s sleep.
- Irritability
– You sometimes find yourself “out-of-sorts” for no particular
reason. The smallest things can set you off, with very little
warning.
- Indigestion
– Prolonged stress will upset your natural digestive processes,
leading to a general “unwell” feeling.
- Lack of
enthusiasm – Stress can cause you to lose your excitement
for projects or your job in general. It can also lead to early
“burn-out.”
- Heart-related
problems – Continued irritability, indigestion and
related problems can lead to high blood pressure and other
heart-related concerns.
