Grape-Nut Bread

I will give both the regular and the sugar-free version of Grape-Nut Bread
 
2 cups sour milk                                 2 TBsp.. melted butter
 
1 1/2 cups sugar                               1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs                                             2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp.  baking soda                             4 cups flour
1 cup of grape-nuts
 
 
Soak Grape-nuts in sour milk for 2 minutes.  Add sugar, salt, eggs and melted butter/margarine.  Add dry ingredients.  Bake 30 -40 minutes at 355*.    Makes two loaves
 
 
 
SUGAR FREE VERSION 
 
1 cup sour milk                                1TBsp. melted butter/margarine
3/4 cup of Sugar Twin                       dash of salt
1 egg                                              1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda                           2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of Grape-nuts
 
 
Mix as per above recipe.  Make one loaf.  You might want to add 2-3 TB  of water to make a smoother batter if egg is small or batter is too stiff. 
 
This is wonderful warm with butter on it with a cup of tea or coffee or along with your meal.
