The work mode is still on a limited level but Randy is back to doing almost everything. He has learned to use his legs for bending and lifting. He is extremely tired this evening but not hurting and that is a good thing. He says that when the gardens are all planted, he'll be working on the house. The doors will be the next necessary thing; to keep out the varmints. Then we can finish the sealing of the seams to keep out the bugs and spiders. The outside will be so pretty when it is painted. That nice and neat appearance. There are still lots and lots of tomatoes yet to plant. Randy wanted to experiment and see what varieties would do well here. He is making notes to see what actually does well. When our local weather report mentions hail the size of grapefruits, I am glad that we still have extra plants just in case. We usually have seasons with no hail at all but the is no way to predict the hailstorms or prevent their damage.

Things have been on hold for the last few months. Randy had healed from his neck surgery only to have the hernias grow worse. He went to the doctor last Monday and will go to see the surgeon this coming Wednesday. He can tell the situation is growing worse every time he does any thing heavy. Like digging a new tomato bed yesterday. But the repairs will be made and we'll try to be ready for the adventure. Then we can allow plenty of time for the continued healing. We plan to get what is needed for the new garden plants and I can do the actual putting into place and planting as needed. I doubt it will take a long time for Randy to be on light duty but my main chore will be walking the dogs. The are very energetic and enjoy going fast with Randy hanging on behind them. I am much slower but we'll get out for the sniff and pee time. I guess I worry too much over how Randy will get up the steps and into the house. They are not user friendly and with my own troubles, I know it will be difficult for him. I've prepared Randy with questions to ask the surgeon about what to expect.
