Signs of Spring

Although we can't seem to shake the cool weather, the grounds is miraculously thawing and snow can only be seen here and there in the shadows.

In addition to the multitude of goldfinches, sparrows, house finches, blue jays, red tail hawks, rough legged hawks, and other year round birds, there are now showing up at the feeder, along the creek and in the sky the following birds:

Eagles (still here and also following the massive flocks of geese and ducks)

King fisher

Canada and snow geese, and another good I do not recognize

Ducks of all kinds buffle-head, teal, mallard

Loons (really lovely, I had forgotten)

Robins

Osprey

Killdeer

Tricolor blackbirds

Grackles

Great blue heron

Gulls
