Avalon Stained Glass School & Creativity Center is pleased to announce their 2010-2011 Budding Young Artists Workshops

These workshops are designed for children 6 to 12 years of age and are open to both boys and girls.
Our workshops are designed for following Developmental Skills: Fine Motor, Visual/Spatial and Social/Emotional.
It has long been recognized that children who are introduced to the arts at an early age are better in their jobs in their adult world. Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill. Arts learning can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. A 2005 report by the Rand Corporation about the visual arts argues that the intrinsic pleasures and stimulation of the art experience do more than sweeten an individual's life -- according to the report, they "can connect people more deeply to the world and open them to new ways of seeing," creating the foundation to forge social bonds and community cohesion.
Workshop fee is $12.50 per child and includes all instruction and materials needed to create their project. Pre-registration is required no later than September 30th, 2010.
