Well I am not a happy camper at the grocery store lately. I am back to reading the fine print on the labels once again due to some stupid craze that is changing the products I use in the supermarket. I gag just thinking on this latest twist. We have an oil spill of epic proportions, we read in the news every day about a burst in aging sewer pipes spewing thousands of gallons of raw sewage into the bays, inlets and oceans. Ads are rampant on the television pleading with boaters to dump their sewage responsibly and also every hard rain storm results in sewage run over of overburdened sewer plants..... SOOOOOOOOOO guess what the latest craze wants us to eat!!!!!!!! SEA SALT....... YUK the thought makes me want to ralph, hurl and..... you get the picture but there is more to it, I live within walking distance of a waterway that empties into the ocean.... What if this urge happens when I am on a bridge. You get the picture!!!!! What is wrong with the minds of those running these food companies....... SEA SALT... are they insane. Of course I have only touched the tip of the iceberg on all the reasons not to ingest it. Some may say that it is sterilized, but I say that does nothing to remove all the heavy metals and various industrial chemicals that are dumped and were dumped into our waterways and oceans. So I am back to checking every label for the offending ingredient. With the time I now have left after stockings and reading labels, I am busy planting my garden. The tomatoes, garlic, hubbard squash, cucumbers, summer squash, carrots, watermelon and green beans are growing like weeds. Still have more to plant but stockings hog a lot of my time right now. Things will be looking great come Christmas. I love this time of the year. 80 to 83 days and 70 to 75 nights. Ideal for my garden and me.
