Carlyn Ann Love was born the daughter of
Silas and Louise (Lehman) Tweedt in Polk
County, Iowa on August 2, 1940 She died at
Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa on June 10,
2011 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 8
days.
Carol, as she was commonly called, graduated
from Allman High School in 1957. She and
Mark Love were united in marriage on August
15, 1958. This union was blessed with four
children: Richard, Lori, Randy and Kenneth.
Over the years Carol and Mark lived in
Altoona, Des Moines, Earlham and Redfield,
Iowa. Carol worked as a nurses aid for many
years for Dallas County Health, Panora
Nursing and Rehab Center and the Stuart Care
Center and enjoyed being a caregiver to
others.
Carol loved to be outside. She loved working
with her garden, raising flowers. Carol and
Mark traveled to many places out east, Texas
and to her favorite place, the mountains.
She enjoyed backpacking, especially up into
the Big Horn Mountains. She enjoyed walking
and biking on the local trails, especially
Gray’s Lake. She was an excellent cook, a
seamstress, a good musician playing the
French horn, the trumpet as well as an
organ. Carol loved to make greeting cards on
her computer, playing table games, and cards
with family and friends.
Carol leaves the following family to
celebrate her life: husband Mark Love of
Redfield; son Richard Love and wife Patty of
Neola, IA; daughter Lori Parker and husband
Richard of Cambridge, Maryland; son Kenneth
Love and wife Robin of Rockford, MN; 4
grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren;
brothers Kenneth Tweedt and wife Anne of
Spring, TX and Roger Tweedt and wife
Dominique of Paris, France; step-sister
Norma Ekhart and husband Allan of Magnolia,
TX, numerous other nieces, nephews and
friends.
