Max started barking at 3:30 a.m. the other morning. We did the shining of the flashlight and chased away all the bunny rabbits. But Max wouldn't be quiet. It was almost noon when I was ready to take him out for a walk and he started going nuts! He was trying to shake the tree this varmint was in. I had to get on the far side of him before he was actually visible. What a face, but they are an extremely nasty creature. Stay Away silly Opossum !

He didn't move a muscle the entire time I was watching. As soon as I went back inside, he disappeared with Max barking until he was long gone. The tree he was in was only about 10 foot from Max's area.

You have to look close to see any reds at all in the leaf color. There are a lot of yellows and beige, tan colorings. The Wall of China tree is fast becoming all yellow leaves and the little tree with heart-shaped leaves has gone from all yellow to all fallen onto the ground.

These are the last of the prickly pear cactus with fruit. They have ripened and been eaten by the wildlife who love them. I have never had the desire to try them as a jelly or to try the pads as a side dish. Humm, they just grow wild.
