Well, here we are - 2004.

Here in the UK the old went out like a lion and the new came in like a lamb !

The weather last night was awful.  Such strong winds, I thought my roof was coming off, it sounded like the roar of an earthquake, and the rain, was thundering down.  I was so worried for my animals.

But this morning it was so quiet and calm and peaceful and mild, uncanny really, just as if everything had blown itself out.

Many New Year celebrations were cancelled last night because of it, now that is unheard of here, even up in Scotland, where New Year is much more popular than Christmas, parties and fireworks had to be cancelled due to the bad weather for the sake of public safety.

Television reception was lost for a couple of hours too.

It's nice to start a new year isn't it ?  everything seems so fresh and new, like a blank canvass waiting for us to paint our lives on.

Any resolutions anyone ?  mine are to wash my car once a week, I can't see the number plate for mud at the moment, to study more computer skills if I can find some free courses and to improve my French, which is almost non existent anyway, so it shouldn't be too difficult, oh yes, and finally getting my website up and running.

I send my best wishes to you all across the seas.
