Websites Well Worth the Visit

If you find websites you would like to share with other readers, please send an email to Nita.

Jan Brett and Hedgie the Hedgehog is a great website. Look about in the middle of the Homepage when it opens and find Subscription. You will get an email highlighting what's fun and new. I get mine and always enjoy it.

Sharon Schnupp Kuepfer Author, Homeschooling Moments and Child-Friendly Recipes --A Collection of the Unique Adventures of a Mennonite Family (ISBN 0-9730416-0-9)  Be sure to read her article and a recipe from the book. This is well worth the time spent reading her words. Find a link to her website.

http://www.mathstories.com/ This site makes their goal to help elementary and middle school children improve math problem solving & critical thinking skills. Membership is $16.95 and 19.95 per year. More for the class, school, etc.  I found loads of sites that provide a sample or limited selection of materials but they charge for membership. If you are interested, let me know and I will email you such a list.

http://www.naturalfamilyhome.com/  This site is religious oriented so if you are offended, don't go here. They sell their own natural family baskets, herbs and botanicals. The site provides information on birth, babies, breastfeeding, being an Advocate of Homesteading, Homeschooling, Natural Foods, Organic Gardening, Raising Small Livestock. Just go look at Kiah's Krafts for Kids. I want to make some Tie Die Rocks. Those are awesome!

www.thsc.org This site is the Texas Home School Coalition. They start at the beginning to help you get started and offer support groups. Find a scholarship application and a debate registration form. To join the coalition is $85 but they say you get hundreds in benefits. The t-shirt says, "I homeschool in Texas/ where people are free."

http://www.homeschooltoday.com/ This is the online version of the printed magazine Homeschooling Today. They have a beautiful website, packed with loads of information. Even the shopping mall is directed at homeschooling needs. They are offering a free email newsletter that sounds great.

http://www.gomilpitas.com/homeschooling/ A to Z's Home's Cool, A to Z's Home's Cool Homeschooling Website! This site also lists website by kids for kids, divided by topic. They sell the kits but are ready to give you lots of help and advice. There are a lot of sites that come up on a search but most all are formal and look very expensive.

http://www.easyfunschool.com This free site boasts 1100 lessons, crafts and ideas to choose from especially designed for teaching at home. The Easy Fun School Message Board is active! They sell many books and educational material. I found this site by accident, it has a section on preserving foods and you will find another link in the Kitchen Tips Section to their page of everything about apples! The site provides free articles, resource links, a free newsletter and many other features to help make homeschooling easier and more enjoyable for both the child and parent.
