I have been looking around on the net
trying to find the exact licorice I used to have as a child. I am unsure
what to look for because most of the names are in Dutch. I used to get
it up through the 1950's from a candy shop in Vicksburg, Michigan and
also at the candy counter at Woolworth's in Kalamazoo, Michigan before
they closed the store there. It was round on the bottom about the size
of a nickel or a tad bigger. It then rounded up like a little bowl on
that base and on the center of the top was a "W". The taste
was a rich licorice one with sweet not salty and not bitter or pungent.
It was hard and would stick to your teeth if you attempted to bite it. I
yearn to have that candy once more. Anyone know what I am referring to
and if it still is obtainable. If so I would be most appreciative in
getting that information. Maybe you or your readers can help find this
lost in my past but not in my memory item.
